(a good way to get on his prayer support team)

Dan grew up attending SW Bible and first felt the Lord tugging at his heart to go serve in missions when he was about 10 years old. By the age of 12, he had determined that he wanted to serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and use airplanes to reach some of the most isolated parts of the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Dan earned his commercial pilot’s license, got his aircraft mechanic certification and joined MAF in 2019 where he met Anna.

Anna, daughter of MAF missionaries Garth and Jody Pederson, grew up in the Democratic Republic of Congo. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was deeply impacted by the example set by the missionaries around her including her parents, who gave much to follow Christ and worked to make Him known in some of the most desperate and difficult to reach places. By around middle school age, she felt called to also spend her life in missionary service. After graduating from The American School of Kinshasa, she attended Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota to study Elementary Education and Middle School Language Arts. After gaining experience teaching for a year in Minnesota, she joined MAF and moved to Sentani, Papua, Indonesia where she taught 3rd grade for four years at Hillcrest School.

Dan was also assigned to Indonesia long-term, but was temporarily assigned to Haiti. During that time, he helped open up Haiti for Romans Project in 2022. The Lord led him to Junior Cineas, a bilingual Haitian national who is eager to translate the teachings of Pastor Scott on the book of Romans into Haitian Creole.

Dan and Anna reconnected online in 2022 and began dating from across the globe. They discovered many things in common and proved to be very much of one mind. They got married on October 21st, 2023 and plan to continue serving with MAF together in Indonesia. They are currently preparing for 9 months of language school and their future placement in Papua.
