Recently, I have been given the opportunity to proclaim the name of Christ in Manila, Philippines.  A team of 12 individuals from Southwest Bible Church will be partnering with local churches in Manila, including Grace City Church and Sampaloc Bible Christian Community, from September 3-20th, 2018. Sampaloc city district contains the “University Belt” in Metro Manila.  The University Belt is home to over 27 schools within a 4 mile radius.  Our main focus on this trip is sharing through campus evangelism, student learning centers, evangelistic outreach concerts, and any other ways we can partner with the local churches of Manila.  

            Our team plans to share with high school and college age individuals and their families to tell them of the grace of Jesus. The Philippines is 85% Roman Catholic, which is a very “works” based religion.  Our goal is to share with them about God’s free gift of salvation through faith in Him, knowing that it is because of God’s grace and nothing we do to earn that salvation.  God has called our team to the Philippines, in order to spread the message of the Gospel, and we are very excited to do just that!

            Over the past year, God has given me a much stronger desire for more people to know about Him.  He has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, and talk to others about Jesus with boldness.  I am continually encouraged and thankful for the opportunities that I have been given to tell others about the Gospel, and this mission trip is no exception!  Of course, I am not able to make this trip happen on my own.  I ask that you please pray for our team over the next few months of preparation, and during our trip in September.  I also ask that you would prayerfully consider assisting me in the fundraising for this trip.   Thank you for partnering with me in order to make this trip happen!

PRAY

• Pray for the churches of Manila.

• Pray for the individuals that will receive the Gospel, and that God would soften their hearts.

• Pray for our team and the logistics of this trip as we prepare. 

• Pray that God would continue to prepare my heart as I enter a culture of poverty.

• Pray that God will give me boldness to share the Gospel, both here, and in the Philippines.
