Sunday Church Service

Sept 1 | Written by Matt Miranda

Today, Pastor Mike preached in a Barong (a traditional Filipino shirt) on Luke 7:36-50, focusing on God’s offer of forgiveness to all people with a sermon titled, “Deep in Debt”. We had the privilege of leading worship alongside Lek, one of the church elders, who played bass guitar. It was a blessing to join the UEC community in Calapan, giving many of their faithful musicians, who serve every week, some much-needed rest.

Over the past 15 years, I've been fortunate to build deep ties with UEC in Calapan through numerous visits and family ties. It was a joy to share these connections with our young team from SWBIBLE, worshipping and serving together in the same building this past Sunday. What a blessing for our young people to worship with other believers and have communion on the other side of the world. Please pray that UEC continues to boldly teach the Bible and rightly handle the Word of Truth every Sunday (2 Tim 2:15). May God be glorified in Beaverton, Calapan, and across all nations.

I love that UEC closes every service singing a benediction out of Jude 1:24-25. May that be a prayer for UEC and SWBIBLE as we look forward to worshipping together in unity with every tribe, tongue, and nation.

“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” (Jude 1:24-25)
